After receiving multiple complaints of builders advertising their projects without registration numbers, the Maharashtra Housing Minister, Prakash Mehta, has warned developers in the state not to advertise their ongoing projects without RERA registration number. Officials have been directed to take action against such developers promoting false advertisement.
As per Maha RERA rules, every ongoing and new real estate projects must be registered with the authority before selling or advertising for the sale of flats.
Developers have been asked to rectify their advertisements by adding registration numbers if the project is certified by the regulatory. The state Housing Minister has asked the authority to take suo motu action against such misleading advertisements. Moreover, home buyers are advised not to trust any advertisement lacking registration number. All buyers must ask for the RERA registration number of the projects.
The Maharashtra regulatory authority has also identified a couple of developers who are not adhering to the rules mentioned under the new Real Estate Act. Officials have informed that the problem is rampant in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Authority will take strict actions against errant builders in the state.
