Noida property registration office living by a 108 year old law whichis a known cause of fraud

In a shocking article published in Economic Times, we find out that the Noida property registration office is adhering to the Registration Act of 1908 which prohibits the stamps and registration department from verifying the legality of the property. As a result, according to the article, “anyone can get even a footpath or a jail registered, because checking the legality of the property does not fall within its jurisdiction”. Needless to say, as anyone can expect, this has given rise to illegal registration of properties.

Like you, I have heard about many incidents of fraud but, I was yet to come across an example where the law encourages fraud.
